State not ready in Joseph Kazhila Jr’s case

Joseph Kazhila Jr, the son of Chingola prominent clergy Bishop Joseph Kazhila today appeared for possible commencement of trial in a case where he is charged with breach of peace.

However, the matter could not take off because the state was not ready to proceed.

Particulars of the matter before Magistrate Shadrack Chanda are that Kazhila Jr, a business executive of plot number 1722 Chikola had recorded an audio where he said chemical spray attacks were more of a spiritual battle.

Kazhila Jr who was arrested on January 22, 2020 was initially being represented by Victor Michelo of VN Michelo and Partners but the legal team has been beefed up by Tom Shamakamba of Ndola.

The matter has been adjoined to February 21, 2020 for commencement of trial.

Kazhila Jr is on bail.
