Nkhuwa donates Hilux to police to quell volatility in Chingola

By ALICE NACHILEMBE
Chingola Member of Parliament Matthew Nkhuwa has donated a Toyota Hilux to Chingola Central Police to boost transportation at the station.

Handing over the Hilux was Rose Nkhuwa, the wife to Mr Nkhuwa.

Ms Nkhuwa said the MP is concerned with the volatile situation in Chingola especially in his constituency.

She said transport was a challenge for officers hence the donation to improve police mobility and response to situations.

Ms Nkhuwa said the vehicle should be used in combating the crime in the district, specifically in Chingola constituency where volatility is rampant.

She said the MP has heard the cry of the officers on transport challenges.

The vehicle is permanently property of police and Mr Nkhuwa is mobilizing another car for that purpose.

Chingola District Commissioner Mary Chibesa said the Hilux will help in intensifying patrols.

Ms Chibesa has called on business community to come on board and help the police in whichever way possible to curb the volatility.

Chingola Officer Commanding Peter Miselo said the gesture is a motivation to the police officers and patrols would be intensified.

Mr Miselo said the foot patrol officers will be motivated as they will have transport.

He said police are working around the clock to bring the culprit to book.

He said the vehicle will be stationed at stationed Chiwempala Police Station.
