Police in Chingola have arrested a-24-year-old woman for dumping her 11 months old child she had with Musenga UPND Ward Councillor Aaron Mbalama.
Elizabeth Chibuye of Mimbula Kasope Extension had without any reasonable cause deserted her child Aaron Mbalama without anyone to take care of it.
Copperbelt Police Commissioner Charity Katanga said the child was discovered by a passerby who found the child along the Libonji road near Kasope.
Ms Katanga said the child was taken to Kasompe police post and rushed to Nchanga North hospital where it is admitted under care.
She said the condition of the child is stable.
And Mr Mbalama said the child was deserted without his consent and he has made immediate arrangements to have the released from the hospital.
Elizabeth is not legally married to Mr Mbalama.
Mr Mbalama stays in Musenga with his wife.
