I know the year 2019 has been thrilling and economically challenging but as a leader my priority was to provide solutions.
The biggest matter was Konkola Copper Mines where Vedanta had literally stopped paying our suppliers and contractors. We fought until President Edgar Lungu came to our aid by disengaging Vedanta.
So far liquidation is on course and the Liquidator Milingo Lungu has never disappointed, we only hope the process is executed expeditiously.
With Constituency Development Funds, we managed to embark on several projects aimed at improving service delivery for our people.
Among them are the completed Mupopo market in Buntungwa Ward which was built at the cost K309, 540, the Kabuta market in Kapisha ward which was built at a cost of K311, 081. The market has been completed awaiting occupation.
Others are the K43, 240 Phiri market flood light in Nsansa ward which has been completed and it is in use, the K148, 608 Kafibale community school 1 x 2 classroom block – Bupalo ward which has completed waiting handover.
We constructed an ablution block at Chilemba market in Kapisha at cost of K493, 850 is at roof level.
We built a 1 x 3 classroom block at Kings Clinic area around Kazimilo in Bupalo ward at a cost of K316, 454, we did VIP toilets at Soweto market at a cost of K33, 927.
At Kabundi East market we have built a market at and we have also empowered marketeers in the newly constructed markets with K200, 000.
Other projects are Boreholes in Kambenja area, construction of the biggest market in Nchanga constituency at the Chilemba market with more than 500 stands and has been completed, construction of new roads in the constituency, opening of Kapisha-Soweto police post plus the construction of police houses at Mulenga police station.
We hope to achieve more in 2020 but for now may I wish all the people of Nchanga a Happy Festival Season.
