The case in which five members of the 100 gang are charged with assault has failed to take off in the Kitwe Magistrate Court due to logistical problems.
This is in the matter in which five(5) members of the 100 which two(2) are juveniles are facing one count of unlawful wounding contrary to the laws of Zambia.
The state applied for an adjournment when matter came up for trial stating that accused could not make to court because the police vehicle famously known as the “Kasalanga” had broken down.
Particulars of the offense are that the 5 accused persons on 12th May 2018 in Kitwe district jointly and whilst acting together did assault Richard Chilembo thereby causing him bodily harm contrary to the laws of Zambia.
In the second count Albert Makelo is charged alone with one count of assault occasioning body harm.
Facts of the matter are that Makelo on 26th April this year assaulted Elizabeth Mulenga in Kitwe occasioning her body harm.
Principal Magistrate Chongo Musonda adjourned the case to 15th June 2018 for continuation of trial.
And in a related case three members of the infamous Tokota gang who pleaded not guilty to one count of unlawful wounding contrary to the laws of Zambia has also been adjourned to 15th June 2018 for commencement of trial.
