Be part of governance youths told

By ALICE NACHILEMBA
Future Preneur Zambia Director Bwalya Kampamba has implored young people to demand for their space and take up pivotal role in governance related matters.

Mr Kampamba said young people have been lef in governance and yet the development of the country requires their engagement.

He said time for young people to take up position and raise the country to great heights is now.

Speaking at the Copperbelt Youth Isaka organized by ActionAid, Agric Plantation Zambia and other non-Government organisations, Mr Kampamba said youth should contribute and add their voices to fundamental issues.

Mr Kampamba said the Isaka was organized for young people on the Copperbelt to have their say on the National Dialogue Forum (NDF).

“We cannot separate politics from governance, development and growth of Zambia. Therefore let’s take a pivotal role as youths. We need to have our say that is why we need young parliamentarians who are youths,” he said.

ActionAid Youth Coordinator Prisca Sinkala said young people are a key, hence cannot be separated from development.

Ms Sikana said youth should have the zeal to take up leadership positions.

She said the young people should use social media to push the agenda of the country and opportunities because they have the power.

The Isaka was held at Chingola’s Nsumi Guest house.
