Dongwe PF Ward Councillor Paul Chivunda is the new Deputy Mayor for Kalulushi after defeating two other contenders.
The two contenders included the former Deputy Mayor Modestor Kabwe, Chivunda polled 11 votes while Ngweshi Ward Councillor David Kapeso was second with 6 votes and the third position went to Councillor Modestor Kabwe who polled 4 votes.
Kalulushi Municipal Council Director of Human Resources and Administration Samuel Musenga who was the Returning Officer declared Councillor Chivunda as the duly elected Deputy Mayor.
This was during a Special Council meeting that was held on Friday 19th July, 2019.
Speaking after the election Councillor Chivunda thanked his fellow Councillors for their support and pledged to continue to work hard.
He urged them to be united and focus on fostering development in the district.
