Police in Mansa have launched a manhunt to arrest a father who repeatedly sexually defiled his own daughter.
The father took advantage of his 9-year-old daughter when hi wife was away attending a workshop at a local hotel.
Police Spokesperson Esther Katongo told The Independent Observer that the man of Mimpolombo Village of Matanda Chiefdom defiled his daughter.
Ms Katongo said the incidence is alleged to have happened between July 10 around 14:30 hrs and July 19, 2019 around 19:00 hrs.
She said when the mother had gone to attend the workshop she left her two daughters aged four and nine with their father.
“When she returned she found the children and her husband were spending nights at a funeral house in the neighbourhood.
“The following morning her husband never returned home but she noticed her Nine year daughter limping and when asked she revealed that her Father had been having carnal knowledge of her ever since their mother had left them him,” she said.
Ms Katongo said the minor sustained bruises in her private parts and pus was coming out from her private parts.
“People at the funeral house were alerted but the suspect had already bolted. A search has been launched and he is currently on the run,” she said.
