Former Zambia National Soccer Team Captain, Dickson Makwaza has died.
His son Linos has confirmed the death of his father to The Independent Observer in a telephone interview.
Makwaza, the 1974 maidain AFCON Skipper for Zambia died around 02:00 hours this morning.
Makwaza is a legendary national defender who turned into a great coach and was in charge of Zambia at the 1988 Soul Olympics where Zambia beat Italy by four goals to zero among other teams.
In 1988, he was honoured by President Kenneth Kaunda as part of Zambia’s Olympic squad which reached the quarter-finals in Seoul.
