KCM sends 6 Indians on forced leave

Konkola Copper Mines (KCM) has sent six Indian expatriates on forced leave in an effort to give the new owner of the mine Milingo Lungu control of the mine.

Two were last week forced out on leave.

Today June 19, 2019, KCM again sent on forced the Head Commercial, Finance General Manager and Chief Information Officer.

KCM General Manager for Corporate Affairs Eugene Chungu has confirmed the development to The Independent Observer.

Mr Chungu said those leading the team on forced leave were Chief Commercial Officer Sanjay Jain, Manager Finance Anand Soni and Chief Information Officer Rajesh Bhatia.

He said three other expatriate employees from India asked to be de- seconded back to their home units in the Vedanta Group.
