Mulonga Water and Sewerage Company has confirmed supplying coloured water in some parts of Mufulira.
This was after some residents in some parts of Mufulira had complained of being supplied with coloured water.
Mulonga Water Public Relations Manager Debora Kangende said immediately after the reported incidence a quality assurance team was dispatched to the site to investigate.
“From our findings the water supplied is not contaminated. The colouring is due to reactions of the purifying chemicals. We assure the residence of Mufulira that the water is safe to drink however, an appropriate actions have been taken.
“In the immediate, flushing out of water in the network has begun and the clear water supply will resume soon,” Ms Kangende assured the residents of Mufulira.
