AU should shape economic growth, stability of Africa-Mwamba

Zambia’s new Ambassador to Ethiopia and Permanent Representative to the African Union, Emmanuel Mwamba has said the African Union should help shape economic growth, peace and stability of Africa.

Mr Mwamba said Zambia will take keen interest in implementing the Agenda 2063 designed for an Africa, that is integrated, prosperous and peaceful, and driven by its own citizens.

Mr Mwamba was speaking when he arrived in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

He arrived at Bole International Airport accompanied by his family to take up his new appointment.

President Edgar Lungu transfered Mr Mwamba from South Africa and appointed him as Ambassador to Ethiopia and Permanent Representative to the African Union.

Mr Mwamba was received by SADC Ambassadors accredited to the African Union and Zambian Embassy Staff.

He replaces veteran Diplomat Susan Sikaneta who returned home after her retirement.

This is according to a media statement by First Secretary for Press at the Zambian Embassy in Ethiopia Inutu Mwanza.
