Open letter to President Edgar Lungu: Chingola needs you

Dear Mr President,

The lower organs who are the ward leaders have already petitioned and have signed a vote of no confidence for their Chairperson Richard Mutale.

Mr Mutale who is Kabungo PF Ward Councillor Mr President, was elected Constituency chairperson when in fact his ward doesn’t have ward structures.

The background is that Chingola constituency held elections twice.

In the first polls Charles Musonda was elected Chingola Constituency Chair deputised by Geoffrey Mwembatani.

Later Mr Musonda went to contest district elections and he won.

Instead of elevating the vice like the way it happened to Stephen Kainga was elevated after Stardy Mwale was made PS, in Chingola it was different.

The PF Secretary General sanctioned another election to vote for new Chair who is Richard Mutale.

This chair has been petitioned by 14 ward officials who have signed a vote of no confidence.

These are things annoying lower structures

So far 14 ward chairpersons have signed a vote of no confidence meaning a column has been formed but aren’t sure where things are getting stuck.

He sold PF fundraising tickets pegged at K250 in the pretext that the First Lady Esther Lungu will grace the occasion but days have passed and there is no rumour of First Lady coming to Chingola.

The event was supposed to be held on March 30, 2019 at Icon Hotel.

We may have the Maiteneke Ward by-elections and if the problems in Kabunga are sorted out, we may lose the ward.
