Head of states meet for Southern Africa Elephant Summit

The President of the Republic of Botswana, Mokgweetsi Masisi has arrived in Kasane for the Kasane Elephant Summit 2019 Heads of State Meeting scheduled for today at Mowana Safari Resort and Spa.

Zimbabwean president,  Emmerson  Mnangagwa has also been welcomed at the Kasane International Airport.

And Zambian President Edgar  Lungu is among the heads of state Expected to attend the Summit today following an invitation from his Botswana counterpart , President Mokgweetsi Masisi.

The theme of the Summit is “Towards a common vision for the management of southern Africa’s elephants”.

The Kasane Elephant Summit aims to bring together Heads of States, Ministers, Regional Integration bodies for Kavango Zambezi Transfontier Conservation Area.

The Elephant Summit is a result of the call by Dr Mokgweetsi Masisi, President of the Republic of Botswana in response to the escalating challenges confronting elephant conservation and management.
