Killer of Chingola Taxi Driver appears in court

The man accused of killing a Chingola Tax Driver has appeared before Chingola Magistrate court for mention in one count of murder and one count of aggravated robbery.

Billy Savius Katyanka 27, of 175 Madam Road in Kalulushi is facing two counts in court where he is charged with murder and aggravated robbery.

Particulars of the offence in the first count are that Katyanka on dates unknown but between April 1 and April 2, 2019 killed Joseph Mutale a taxi driver of Chingola.

And in the second count Katyanka on dates unknown but between April 1 and April 2, 2019 stole one motor vehicle Toyota Corolla Reg No. AIB 9502 valued at K65, 000, the property of Malambo Hamabona, by threatening the driver of the same vehicle, Joseph Mutale to harm him if he resisted.

Chingola Senior Resident Magistrate Peggy Banda told the accused that the cases he was facing can only be tried by High Court.

The matter was adjourned to May 8, 2019 for another mention.
