Killer of Chingola Taxi driver cornered in Mumbwa, vehicle recovered

The killer of Chingola Tax Driver has been arrested by Chingola police in Mumbwa and the vehicle has also been recovered.

Chingola Taxi driver booked and left killed in Luanshya

Savius Katyanka 28, of Seven Miles area in Mumbwa was arrested yesterday at Munengo Bridge along old Kabwe Road in Mumbwa.

Copperbelt Police Commissioner Charity Katanga has confirmed the arrest and recovery of the vehicle from Mumbwa.

Ms Katanga said Katyanka was found washing the same stolen car in readiness to sale it.

She said Joseph Mutale Mulenga Jr of 30-2nd Street in Nchanga South Township was booked on April 1, 2019 from Chingola to Luanshya and later he was found dead in the bush of Mimputu area Luanshya with a deep cut on the stomach.

“The criminals managed to steal the Toyota Corolla Reg. No. AIB 9502 Silver in color, Chasis No. AE 110-011338 and Engine no. 5A G905282 valued at K65, 000 the property of Benkel Malambo 42, of house no. 31 T Katutwa Street Chingola Town Centre. This was after the criminals had hired the said taxi driver from Chingola to Luanshya,” she said.

Meanwhile Police have also arrested two suspects plus a girlfriend in connection with the murder of Davie Pepala in Kapisha.

Chingola man knifed to death

Davie of 17 Chikuku Street in Kabundi East was on April 4, 2019 stabbed to death left dead along DJ Road of Kapisha Township.

Copperbelt Police Chief Charity Katanga said the three were seen drinking beer together at a local bar and they left the bar together at night.

Ms Katanga said on the way, the two other men picked a quarrel with Davie Pepala and they allegedly started beating him and later stabbed him to death.
“The girlfriend cried for help but there was no help then she bolted. Later police were tipped that Davie on the fateful night was with the named suspects. We picked them all to help us with investigations.
