Mwamba speaks out on Xenophobia attacks

Zambia’s High Commissioner to South Africa Emmanuel Mwamba has called for an immediate stop to attacks against foreign nationals living in South Africa.

He also said as African Diplomats they will seek to engage South African government to secure assurances that African foreign nationals will be safe and their properties will be secured.

Mr Mwamba said Diplomats have raised early alarm because of past occurrences of xenophobic attacks that happened in 2008, 2015 and 2016.

He said these events started as a single and isolated event in one area and spread to other places.

Mr Mwamba said it was imperative to sound early alarm to immediately protect life and stem any further loss of properties.
