Drama has engulfed operations at Kaoma Town Council after Western Water and Sewerage Company disconnected water supply for none
payment of an outstanding bill.
And the Local authority has in turn locked up the offices for Western Water and Sewerage company for not paying an outstanding bill of business levy.
The development has left a number of customers whose water supply was disconnected stranded as they do not know where to pay their bills from.
Kaoma District Commissioner Kennedy Mubanga who confirmed the development to ZANIS in an interview today described the development as uncalled for as he expected government institutions to work together.
Mr Mubanga explained that Council is a government institution and Western Water Company is a public entity and wondered how the two acted in such a manner depriving the much-needed services to the masses.
It is alleged that the Kaoma Town Council owes Water and Sewerage Company about 3,000 Kwacha in water bills while the utility company owes the local authority Over 60,000 Kwacha in unpaid business levies.
