Richard Kazala wants traffic lights relocated from Mokorro hotel

By JOHN SAKALA
Chingola businessman Richard Kazala wants a single pole of the four-way traffic lights to be located at Mokorro hotel in Chingola to a different location for blocking traffic flow at the hotel.

Mr Kazala said a single traffic pole at Mokorro entrance is affecting business both at the hotel and the Total fuel station.

Speaking during the Chingola Chamber of Commerce and Industry Business Forum which hosted Chingola Town Clerk Kabombo Mutakela, Mr Kazala requested the local authority to relocate a single pole of the traffic lights.

He suggested the relocation of only single traffic pole which is at the entrance of Mokorro to up Kabundi Road to Mulonga Water exit point and leave the rest as they are.

“Once the traffic lights are in red, it means traffic to and from both Mokorro and Total fuel station cannot flow, thereby affecting our clients. Even our neighbor Epiroc and Nalu Restaurant are affected by the traffic lights once in red. It means they can’t enter their premises.

“Here we are also asking the council to adjust timings of the traffic lights and give busier roads better timing 45 seconds while those that aren’t busy with marked down to 15 seconds. Then the new location of traffic lights can be marked yellow so that every motorist know that there is no parking. This will enhance traffic flow,” he said.

Mr Kazala who is Mining Haulage Director also runs Mokorro hotel and Total fuel station next to Mokorro hotel.
