Veep back home, safe and sound

By JOHN SAKALA
Vice President Inonge Wina today returned home from India in high spirit.

Mrs Wina, clad in a white head dress with a matching white coat arrived at 14:35 hrs aboard an Emirates plane.

She persevered 14 non-stop hours of flight from Mumbai.

She is 78.

An impeccable source said the Vice President refused to make a stop over in Dubai or any other place.

Upon disembarking from the plane, Mrs Wina waved at the people smiling broadly and walked to her motorcade.

She went to India on January 23, 2019 for routine medical check ups.

However, social media has been abuzz with falsehoods that she is in a coma.

Mrs Wina was received by Permanent Secretary in the office of the Vice President Stephen Mwansa.

Mr Mwansa later told journalists that the Vice President is fit contrary to social media assertions that she is in a coma.

“I wish to announce to the nation that the Vice President is back in the nation. She is in high spirits. She had minor issues but she is well. As you have seen she is not on a stretcher but on her feet,” Mr Mwansa said in a terse interview.
