We shouldn’t be over too confident with polls-Nathan Chanda

By JOHN SAKALA
Copperbelt Patriotic Front (PF) Chairperson Nathan Chanda has told the PF ward officials in Anoya Zulu ward not to be over confident of winning the Local Government by-election in Chililabombwe.

Speaking when he addressed the ward officials, Mr Chanda advised the ward officials not to take by-elections for granted.

He said Anoya Zulu which is located in Kasumbalesa is a trick ward due to its geographic nature and the history it has where the opposition have been leapfrogging votes from the ward.

“But we have the consolation that our government has executed various mega infrastructure projects for the voters to trust us with a vote. Let us tell people the truth as our President Edgar Lungu has been.

“We are the ruling party and we must face this by-election with all the seriousness it deserves in order to measure our grassroots popularity. This was our seat before the death our Councilor Fidelis Makasa,” he said.

The PF party have adopted Kangwa Nsofwa Lupele as their candidate in the fourth coming ward by-election in Kasumbalesa slated for February 12, 2019.

The Anoya Zulu ward seat fell vacant following the death of its civic leader, Fidelis Makasa of PF.
