Mansa Municipal Council has seized 264 loaves of bread worth K2,112.00 from Dantys Down UB outlet and later disposed them off.
Mansa Municipal Council Assistant Public Relations Manager Gladys Saili said the seized loaves of bread were unwrapped thereby pausing health threat.
Ms Saili said the bread was not fit for human consumption making it an offence under Statutory Instrument No. 12 of 2018;
“The routine operations are conducted in order to ensure that the business community in Mansa District comply with with the provisions of the Public Health Act Cap 295 and the Food and Drugs Act Cap 303 of the Laws of Zambia as read together with Statutory Instrument No. 12 of 2018 regulations 11, 13, 16, 17, and 22,” she said.
