President Edgar Lungu says the Will of the people of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) should not be manipulated by anyone.
President Lungu said despite the DRC elections having generated interest from many regions , it was important that the people of Congo were given a chance to determine their own future.
The President emphasized that it was important to let the people of the DRC to decide their own destiny without undue influence.
The Head of state was speaking on arrival at Bole International Airport in Ethiopia where he is expected to attend a SADC DOuble Troika meeting scheduled for Thursday.
He said SADC, AU, IGAD and other bodies were all looking at ways of addressing the issue in the DRC, hence the decision to meet in the political capital to help come up with a common decision.
President Lungu said he was hopeful that an amicable and acceptable resolution would soon be reached in the Congo.
And the President expressed worry that the problem in Congo may lead to alot of internally displacement persons and refugees.
Sixteen Heads of states are expected to attend the SADC Double Troika Summit on the Congo DR.
AU Chairperson Paul Kagame , Heads of States from IGAD are already in Addis Ababa for the meeting.
