Newly elected Patriotic Front (PF) district chairperson Evaristo Chilufya has called for unity among PF members in the district.

Speaking during a press briefing held at the party Secretariat today, Mr Chilufya said there is need for PF members in Kitwe to unite now that the elections are over.

Mr Chilufya (left on the above picture) said his task as the new district chairperson is to grow the party and reconcile with the everyone who contested in the past intra party elections so that unity prevails the party.

He said there was need to ensure masssive mobilisation and recruiting of new members so that they deliver votes for the presidential candidate in 2021.

Mr Chilufya added that there are no current petitions at ward level following the intra party elections adding that the misunderstandings were due to the fact that some people misunderstood guidelines by the central committee.

“All petitions where handled. Some petitions where just luck of understanding of guidelines given by central committee. Some people thought they were left out or hindered from contesting the because they misinterpreted the guidelines,” he said.

Mr Chilufya urged cadres to desist from harrassing the media as they play an important role in development.
