The Kasama High Court has quashed a five year sentence imposed on a-25 year old Nchelenge man who had carnal knowledge of a pregnant goat and replaced it with 15 year jail term after he said he enjoyed having sex with a goat than his wife.
Particulars of the offence were that on November 2, 2018 Reuben Mwamba, of Mutono Village had carnal knowledge of a she goat contrary to section 155 (b) of the penal code chapter 87 of the laws of Zambia.
Mwamba was sentenced to five years imprisonment with hard labour by the Mansa Magistrates’ Court, after he pleaded guilty.
But on Tuesday, Ndola based Judge, Justice Emeria Sunkutu who is sitting in the Kasama High Court, quashed the earlier sentence of five years imprisonment and replaced it with fifteen years imprisonment with hard labour when the matter came for judicial review pursuant to section 338 subsection one of Chapter 88 of the Penal Code of the Laws of Zambia.
“Yes I enjoy having sex with my goat than my wife”, said Reuben.
Reuben is a teacher by profession who was yet to be deployed.
