788 health workers to be recruited this week-Dr Malama

Ministry of Health Permanent Secretary Technical Services Kennedy Malama says government will this week conclude the recruitment exercise of the Seven Hundred and 88 Health workers.

Dr Malama has since urged the Health personnel who will be recruited to be patriotic and professional.

“The country will on June 21, 2021 receive additional one hundred and 8 thousand doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine that will be administered on June 23rd as a second to those that received the first vaccine, and those that did not take part in the first phase of rolling out the vaccine will receive the first dose, the country will also receive Hundred thousand doses of Sinopharm,” he said.

Dr Malama also called on the Church and Corporate leaders to heighten sensitization on Covid-19 guidelines.

“The is likely to reach 5-hundred admissions as we continues recording more cases and an estimated 3 Hundred of the figure expected to be on Oxygen,” he said.

And Ministry of Health Director Infectious Diseases Lloyd Mulenga said schools are also recording COVID-19 cases saying that the symptoms are mild in children and no death recorded.

So far Zambia’s cumulative number of confirmed cases stands at 1o1, 996, with total number of confirmed deaths standing at 1,321.
