600 girls retrieved from early marriages

World Vision Zambia has retrieved 600 Girls from child marriages across the country.

World Vision Zambia Board Chairperson Malcom Chabala said child marriage should not be condoned.

Mr Chabala was speaking during the Strong Girls, Strong Zambia fundraising campaign Launch whose target amount is Eight million United States dollars.

He said the organization aims to retrieve 15,000 adolescent girls from marriages by 2025 and that those at risk to will live safer in the 72 districts where World Vision Zambia operates.

Speaking at the same event, Chief Ndake of the Nsenga people in Nyimba District said under his chiefdom, village councils have been mobilised to support vulnerable children that drop out of school due to lack of funds.
