6 die in Ndola-Kitwe road accident

Six people have died on the spot while 21 others sustained serious injuries the driver of the Rosa minibus lost control due to excessive speed and in the process fell into the stream.

Among the dead are two women and four men.

Police Spokesperson Esther Katongo who confirmed the incidence said the accident happened yesterday July 15, 2019 at about 17:50 hours at Mipundu Stream on Kitwe –Ndola  dual carriage way.

Ms Katongo said Moses Mususu who was driving the Rosa Mini bus Registration number ADE 1511 which being driven by from Kitwe to Ndola lost control thereby plunging into a stream.

“At the time of this report, the total number of people on board as well as the identities of the victims had not yet been established.

“The injured were rushed to Kitwe Teaching Hospital for medical attention while the bodies of the deceased persons are in the same Hospital mortuary,” he said.

And Kitwe Central Hospital Senior Medical Superintendent Abidan Chansa also confirmed the incidence.
