5 SUSPECT NABBED FOR TRAFFICKING AN ALBINO AT K500,000.00

Police have charged and arrested five suspects for two counts of human trafficking Prohibition of Trafficking in persons living with Albinism.

Police Spokesperson Rae Hamoonga said brief facts of the matter are that Kebby Shanyanga 42, of Maloan village in Chief Mukuni, Justine Mutaka Songa of Simwami village in Zimba District and Alfred Sialubaba 45, of house number 175 of Maloan Town in Livingstone are alleged to have attempted to traffic a man 41 a person living with albinism of Mwand district and priced him at K 500,000.00.

Mr Hamoonga said this occurred on June 3, 2023 at a named Guest house in Kalomo District of Southern province.

He said in the Second count the four suspects namely Kebby Shanyanga 35, Justin Mutaka Songa, Lenon Chitumba 25, a traditional healer of sky layby area in Zimba district and a man 17, of unknown house number of Mawire, are alleged to have jointly and whilst acting together attempted to traffic a Juvenile aged 16 a grade 10 pupil at Kalomo Secondary School a person living with albinism.

Mr Hamoonga occurred on June 3, 2023 between 16:00 and 18:00 hours in Mawire Township in Kalomo District of Southern Province of the republic of Zambia. The five accused persons are all in custody and will appear in court soon in Kalomo District.
