5 Nchanga parishioners die in a road accident

Five people have died while 26 others sustained serious injuries when the bus they were traveling in rammed into a stationary truck between along Chingola-Kitwe road.

The fatal accident happened when the driver of the Mitsubishi Rosa from Kitwe misjudged clearance distance and in the process hit into the stationary truck later into an oncoming Corolla.

The Rosa was also hit from the back by another

Police Spokesperson Esther Katongo said five people died in the accident.

Ms Katongo identified those that died as Bupe Chiwanda 25, who sustained a deep cut on the fore head, Regina Bwale 23, who sustained multiple injuries.

She said Bupe and Regina had died on the spot.

Others were Haggi Nkandu 35, of unknown address who sustained a deep cut on the forehead, unidentified bus conductor plus another one who has just now at the hospital.

Ms Katongo said three vehicles were involved namely; a Mitsubishi Rosa Reg No ACK 9525 driven by James Simpamba 39, of Sky Blue Kabundi East Extension in Chingola.

She said Simpamba sustained fractured legs of the accident which happened around 18:30 hours yesterday October 6, 2019 at Musenga area.
She said also involved was a Toyota corolla REG NO. Bcc 4458 ZM which had extensively damaged front part and it was being driven by Oscar Mambwe 38yrs of New plots Kasompe, Chingola

Ms Katongo said Mambwe sustained bruised left fingers and he had two passengers who just sustained minor injuries were treated and discharged.

Also involved was a third vehicle which was stationed being a Volvo truck and trailer REG. No. ACM 5453 it was being driven by Wren Imasiku 45 of hillcrest Ndola who escaped unhurt.
