Five girls of the same family have been burnt to death after a grass thatched house they were sleeping in was gutted.
Police Spokesperson Esther Katongo has confirmed the inferno to The Independent Observer.
Ms Katongo identfied the girls as Mable Mweemba 17, Gertrude Mweemba 17, Nora Milimo 15, Enely Milimo 12 and Jean Mweemba 17, all of the same family of Shikalembula village in Shakumbila’s Chiefdom.
She said the house burnt on July 6, 2019 between 22:00 hrs and 23: 00 hours.
Ms Katongo said the cause of thw inferno has not yet been established while the bodies habe are in Nampundwe hospital mortuary.
