The Lufubu by-election was necessitated by the death of Patriotic Front candidate Raphael Munkonde who died a day before the much anticipated August 12, 2021 polls, resulting in the postponement.
The Electoral Commission of Zambia-ECZ has since set October 21, 2021 as poll date.
