407 student awarded bursaries from Chingola Constituency

Four-Hundred and Seven students from Chingola Constituency have been awarded with bursaries for skills training courses in various skills.

Speaking during the awarding ceremony Chingola Member of Parliament Chipoka Mulenga said that Government is equipping the youths with necessary skills that will help improve their livelihood.

Mr Mulenga said that the youths should not be given handouts, instead empowering them with skills for a sustainable future.

He said through skills empowerment the youths be taught how to fish and build the economy of this nation.

Mr Mulenga who is also Trade and Commerce Minister said that once the youth’s acquire these skills CDF empowerment will be put to good use because it will be given to the people who know what they are doing.

He said CDF should be owned by everyone as it has the power to change the Nation economy positively once utilized well.

Mr Mulenga has urged the recipients to ensure that they work hard and make the best from this opportunity.

He has also advised Councillors from all the wards in his constituency to pay attention to beneficiaries not to abuse the fund and drop out of school.

“Let’s work hard and develop the country together because this is our country and it is our responsibility to make it better,” he said.

And Chingola Mayor Johnson Kang’ombe said that the government is working toward equal opportunities for everyone hence the fulfillment of the education bursaries.

Lawrence Ngosa who spoke on behalf of the recipients thanked Government for the opportunity to turn the lives of the youths by giving them a better future.
