3 people who attacked a caretake before stealing nabbed

Police in Siavonga have arrested three suspected criminals who allegedly attacked a caretaker before stealing armoured cables at Jack Kawinga Limited in Siavonga District.

The suspects were idendified as Spencer Maimisa aged 33, John Mwansa aged 15 and George Kunda age 26 all of Game Compound in Siavonga District. They were wearing masks and armed with a teaser gun.

They stole armoured cables after tying the hands of the caretaker on March 24, 2024 around 23:00 hours in Game Compound.

Police officers were alerted and immediately investigations were instituted leading to the arrest of the suspects.

The value of the stolen cables is yet to be established as interrogations are ongoing.

And Police in Lusaka’s Matero township have arrested two suspected criminals who have been behind a spate of breakings and thefts in Matero township and surrounding areas.

The two suspects were identified as Mike Mwansa aged 32 and Emmanuel Hapeya aged 31 both of Chunga township.
The two are also suspected to have broken into a hardware shop located in Barlastone area between March 23 and March 24, 2024 where undisclosed amount of property was stolen.
Police investigations led to the arrest of the two suspects in Shadreck area where they went to sell buckets of paint suspected to have been stolen.
After interrogations, Police recovered breaking implements among them two cutters and screw drivers.

A Toyota vitz bearing registration number BLB 6100 which is suspected to be used by the suspects has been impounded and upon searching the vehicle, Police discovered three different vehicle number plates bearing numbers BAV 2880 AIC 7933 and BBA 1564 together with 8 × 20 litres of PVA paint.

The two suspects are currently detained in Police custody.
