26 Council employees awarded

Solwezi Municipal Council has awarded 26 of employees for their hard work and dedication to duty.

The was part of the 2022 International Labour Day Commemoration to motivate employees to work hard.

SMC Assistant Public Relations Manager   Ester Chirwa said the Local Authority appreciates the role human resource play in effective service delivery.

“As a local authority we want extend our congratulations to all the 26 Solwezi Municipal Council employees that have been awarded,” he said.

“North Western Provincial Minister Robert Lihefu graced the celebrations in Solwezi District that saw both public and private institutions awarding deserving employees,”.

Also in attendance was the Provincial Permanent Secretary Colonel Grandson Wishikoti Katambi -Retired, Deputy Permanent Secretary Naomi Tetamashimba Khumalo, Solwezi District Commissioner Diki Mulofwa, and the Deputy Mayor Councillor Alex Pupe, Acting Town Clerk Mr Robbie Chitambo, Heads of Government departments and representatives from various institutions in the district.

This year’s event was celebrated under the theme “Accelerating Socio-Economic Transformation through Sustainable and Decent Job Creation Amidst Covid-19.”
