Unknown people have gassed the dormitories at Lufwanyama Boarding school on the Copperbelt.
Copperbelt Police Commissioner Charity Katanga has confirmed the development.
According to Ms Katanga the gassing happened in the early hours of today.
And several pupils at Lufwanyama Boarding have been rushed to hospital following the gassing.
Ms Katanga said police are investigating the incident.
The motive behind the gassing of pupils using an unknown substance still remains unclear.
In the last few weeks, unknown persons have gassed several households in Chingola on the Copperbelt.
A first year Copper belt university student last week died from suffocation after his parents home was gassed.
The security situation in Chingola and the copper belt remains tense.
Riots have been experienced in the mining town of Chingola owing to the rise in criminal related incidents in the area.
Police last week gunned down of the suspects linked to the gassing of households in Chingola.
Several persons have been arrested in connection with gassing of households in Chingola.
Police have described the security situation in Chingola as relatively calm.
