Gender Activist Beauty Katebe says she is concerned over the reports that Gender Based Violence (GBV) cases shot up by over 1000 in the Second Quarter of 2022.
Ms Katebe is worried that murder, physical abuse and sexual offences continued to be rampant.
She urged families to strengthen efforts in the protection of children from violence.
Ms Katebe called on stakeholders to investigate reasons why Lusaka was topping the list of GBV cases in order to generate solutions.
The Gender Activist called for continued advocacy as the 1, 441 rise in GBV cases was too high representing 23.44%.
Police spokesperson Rae Hamoonga recently announced that Zambia recorded 7,589 GBV cases in the Second Quarter of 2022 compared to 6,148 GBV cases reported in the Second Quarter of 2021.
