2 water pumps stolen at Ronald Ross hospital in Mufulira

Two submersible water pumps valued at K12, 000 have been stolen by unknown criminals at Ronald Ross hospital in Mufulira.

Copperbelt Police Commanding officer Peacewell Mweemba said that this occurred between January 18, 2023 at 1700 hours and January 19, 2023 at 0600 hours at Ronald Ross hospital.

Mr Mweemba said the facts of the matter are that the hospital premise is guided by two security guards employed by the hospital both day and night.

He said on January 18, 2023 the two security guards doing day shift handed over the premises to the two guards doing night shift among them the two subversive pumps which supplies water to the hostels.

‘In the morning of January 19, 2023 it was discovered that the hostels had no water and when the reporter went to check at the 2 boreholes he discovered that the two pumps were stolen. Scene of crime has been visited and docket of theft has been opened,” he said.

Mr Mweemba said the police are looking for one worker from the hospital to assist the police with investigations.
