2 siblings drown in Petauke

Two children from the same family have drowned in Petauke after they were swept off by ragging floods at Kang’ombe stream of Khola village.

Police Spokesperson Rae Hamoonga said brief facts of the matter are that Daniel Mwanza the father of the two children after a marital dispute with his wife Esnart Banda, got their four Children and decided to go back to her parent’s home.

Mr Hamoonga said unfortunately on their way they failed to cross the stream and in the process fell in the stream where the two children met their fate, leaving the other two children hospitalized together with the mother.

He has identified the victims as Cecilia Mwanza 9 and Alex Mwanza Six month old.

The bodies of the two deceased have since been deposited at Petauke district hospital Mortuary awaiting postmortem and burial.
