A-13-year old girl of Chingola’s Luano farms has allegedly been defiled by a man from the neighborhood at a nearby school.
The incident happened between December 13 and December 14, between 19:00hours and 04:00hours.
Copperbelt Police Commanding Officer Peacewell Mweemba said that on December 13, 2022 around 17:00hrs, the victim went to Luano market to wait for her female friend.
Mr Mweemba said that after the friend failed to show up, she decided to go back home and it was during the course of her journey that she met the suspect who grabbed her and told her to have sex with him.
He said the victim refused but the suspect insisted and later dragged her to Luano B Primary school where he threatened her that he was going to beat her if she tried to shout.
Mr Mweemba said the suspect then undressed and had carnal knowledge with her and threatened her not to tell anyone.
He said the case was only reported on December, 17, 2022 after the suspect had confronted the victim’s elder sister and told her what he done to her sister.
“Upon hearing that the sister to the victim then informed her mother of what she was told, the victim was called by her mother and asked her if it was true what her sister was saying, she admitted and revealed that she was threatened to be beaten by the suspect if she told anyone.
Mr Mweemba said the suspect also threatened to beat the juvenile up in case she tells or reveals the ordeal to her parents or any other person.
He said with the help of the public the suspect was arrested on December 18, 2022 at around 11:00 hours” he said.
Mr Mweemba the said the police detained the suspect, and investigation have been instituted into the matter as a docket has been opened
