Thirteen children are expected to be flown to Israel this month for life-saving heart surgery at Save a Child’s Heart Hospital.
Save A Child Heart Executive Director Simon Fisher says this follows the renewed Memorandum of Understanding between the healthy facility and the Ministry of Health in Zambia.
Mr Fisher says the MoU will enable the Israeli specialists to offer treatment to children born with heart conditions and further extend to training more Zambian health personal.
He however says the Israeli organization is already training a team of Zambian health personnel who will be expected to carry out paediatric cardiac cases when they return to Zambia next year.
Mr Fisher said this in an interview with ZNBC News in Israel.
And Dr Mudaniso Ziwa who is among the Zambian health personnel being trained in Israel in heart surgery told ZNBC that he is confident that through the skills acquired, Zambia will be able to conduct pediatric heart surgeries and become a medical Hun in the region.
