A disturbing case of defilement has been reported in Chambishi, where a 12-year-old girl was allegedly defiled by a man she knows from Mwambashi Farms, leaving her two months pregnant.
According to Copperbelt Police Commanding Officer Peacewell Mweemba, the victim was taken from Chingola to Mwambashi by someone she knew, who started mistreating and beating her up. This prompted the accused, a neighbor to the man who took her from Chingola, to take the victim to his house, where he allegedly had carnal knowledge of her.
The incident occurred between September 2024 and November 2024 in the Mwambashi area of Chambishi.
The victim’s father had reported her missing and informed the police that someone had spotted her in the Mwambashi area. Following a thorough investigation, the police retrieved the girl and apprehended the suspect, who will appear in court soon
