An- Eleven-month-old baby has died after sustaining multiple dog bite wounds after it was bitten by a dog in Lusaka at Roza Kahiya Farms in Mungule area
The infant sustained bite wounds on the head and the chest.
Police Deputy Spokesperson Danny Mwale said the father to the baby identified as Oliver Siamuzovu 26, who works at the same Farm, told Police officers who visited the scene that he had left the dog tied around the dog house.
Mr Mwale said he went to attend to the pigs when suddenly the dog broke loose the chain belt and went straight to his house where it attacked the baby who was at the verandah.
He said the incident occurred on February 26, 2023 at around 18:00 hours at Roza Kahiya Farms in Mungule area.
“The body of the baby was deposited in University Teaching Hospitals Mortuary awaiting Postmortem and burial. An inquiry file has been opened in the matter,” he said.
