Police in Petauke have arrested 10 suspected criminals in connection with three Aggravated Robberies.
The robberies which happened at Petauke Day Secondary School on 27th April, 2018 between 2100 hours and 23 30 hours.
Police Public Relations Officer Esther Katongo confirmed this in a statement.
Ms Katongo said that the suspects are alleged to have, at the material day and in separate incidences, attacked Lenard Tembo of Lungwe Village, Francis Phiri, 23 of Petauke’s Show Grounds and Charles Banda, 34 of Petauke’s Anusa Compound and had their property stolen.
She said the suspects have been jointly charged with three counts of Aggravated Robbery and all are aged between 15 and 20 years.
“As Police, we have observed with concern, the rise in gangs and we wish to warn such groups that officers are on high alert and will work round the clock to crack down such groups of hooligans in a bid to protect members of the public,” she said.
Ms Katongo said that they are scheduled to appear in court tomorrow.
