0ver 200 students graduates in skills courses at Chingola skills Center

Two-Hundred and three students have graduated with various skills training courses from Chingola skills of Continuance education.

The graduates’ graduated in various courses in Food and Beverage, General Hospitality, Metal Fabrication, Occupation Safety, Auto Mechanics and Computer Application.

And speaking at the graduation ceremony Chingola Mayor Johnson Kang’ombe said that the Skills that have been acquired by the graduates can lead to the creation of self-employment.

Mr Kang’ombe who is also a former student of the School has encouraged the student to be hard working and focused even as they have begun a new journey.

He said graduates should go out there and actualize their skills and not keep the papers in their homes.

Mr Kang’ombe said that determination in life is a key to a success future, as he himself has worked in the food and beverage industry as an employee who was later promoted to a beverage Manager.

“I was a student of this school who studied Food and Beverage, I worked at Protea Hotel and due to my hard work and dedication, I was promoted as a Beverage Manager until I decided to open my own food and beverage company. I can say that determination has made me to be the person I am today. Don’t despise small beginnings we all starts small,” he said.

He has urged graduate in various Skills to actualize the constituency development fund that the government has released to form cooperatives and create self-employment and employee others.

And Chingola District Education Board Secretary Noah Simulunga also urged the graduates not to take the Skills courses their have acquired for granted as it is a seed sown and will make great impact in their lives.

Mr Simulunga said the District has delivered and will continue to deliver the necessary skills to the expectation of the people so as to add value to the nation.

He has implored the graduates to better their lives with the skills as society will depend them you to foster personal and national development.
